The .SE country-code top-level domain was created in 1986 and given to Sweden. During the first years after its launch, the registration process was quite restrictive, so a very small number of domain names were grabbed. Individuals were permitted to get no more than one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was mandatory, i.e. merely Swedish persons, business entities and organizations were able to secure a dot SE domain.
