A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typo. The drawback of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited emails, but this issue can be fixed by using anti-spam protection software. It is also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a lot of functions, but it is amazingly easy to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just a click. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be enumerated in this section alphabetically and you will simply need to click the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the particular email address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either turn off the latter feature or select some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes yet another click on the very same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all email address can be set up with a few mouse clicks if you have a semi-dedicated hosting service with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed via our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up mailboxes using any domain name registered here. To enable the catch-all option for a specific mailbox, you will have to click the logo with the same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be achieved in the exact same way and will not take more than a click either. If the catch-all option has already been enabled for a specific domain name, you’ll get a warning text message. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or alter anything automatically.
